Apr 4, 2008 - Macdonald Carey died, of cancer, in March of 1994..possibly, it was already known, at this time in 1993, that he wouldn't be returning to the show..best guess: they hadn't decided whether to continue with his voiceover - which they later did, without the 'this is Macdonald carey, and these are the days of out lives' portion of the voiceover..beyond this guesswork, i have no idea..

Apr 30, 2008 - I remember this eposide it was the only time his voiceover wasnt used in the opening... If I recall this eposide was when Stefan owas in the hospital and John and just found out Stefano was Kristen's adopted father. He was trying to get her to tell him everything she knew about him and how it came she was his adopted daughter. I actuall have this on tape somewhere; because the opening was silent. I kept it, who known 14 year later, You Tube would be a place for these things, lol...

Jun 17, 2008 - This was the highlight of each episode back then. I absolutely loved the ending. I loved the rare times the song played to the end. I hope it is considered being back in some way. The generic credits they used today are horrible.

Aug 23, 2008 - This is beautiful. Hearing the theme without a voice might take some getting used to, but we actually get to watch the hourglass a bit more before the credits finally roll.The closing theme is available in its entirety on the Days Of Our Lives soundtrack CD.
