He realises that he was never bound and is amused by notions of bondage and liberation. He is desireless, neither alive nor dead, neither real nor non-real. He is beyond the cognitive process. He decides to continue with his natural duties.Balis is an asura, one who could beat the gods. He begins to perform a particular rite which will give him power over the three worlds. Vishnu takes the form of Vamana the dwarf and cheats Bali out of his rulership.Bali will eventually become the next Indra. He is equanimous at this prospect.Vasistha exhorts Rama to establish the attention firmly in the heart, the heart-essence.
