Eric Thiman (1900-75) had a distinguished career as academic, choral director and organist, and is best known today for his songs, organ and choral music. This brief piece (apologies for such a short video) was published by the ABRSM in 1955 and presumably commissioned for educational use. It appeared in the final volume of their 'Highway of Progress' series (1977 version). Alas, I suspect a piece with the title of a nursery rhyme could be considered uncool by today's Grade 7-8 students! However it is an interesting piece, with slight echoes of Granados in its piano writing.---------------------------------------Played by Phillip Searhttp://www.psear.co.uk
