For those Monty Python fans out there, Beyond The Fringe will be your cup o' tea. Predating Monty Python, Beyond The Fringe was comprised of Peter Cook, Dudley Moore, Alan Bennett, and Jonathan Miller. It played in Britain's West End and on New York's Broadway in the early 1960s, and, according to Wikipedia, "is widely regarded as seminal to the rise of satire in 1960s Britain". I've recently encountered quite a few people who are living in fear that these are "the end of days", and that the entire world has gone mad.To these people, I say "rubbish!", and I humbly remind them that they are not the first people in history who feel this way. Those of us who are focused on world events, the nightly news, the blogosphere and the war on terror are all too susceptible to media hype, commercialized hysteria and the gloomy, pounding rhythm of the 24 hour news cycle.I'm posting this video here as a reminder that all is NOT doom and gloom. Mankind's greatest days are yet ahead of us.So.... watch this video, and then turn off your computer, go outside, and live your life for a while. The insanity will still be here tomorrow, so you can afford to take a day off now and again.
