Here is the news:http://www.cctv.com/program/bizchina/20080806/103274.shtmlThat's probably it! They have blocked all the news video clips out from China! What a stupid irresponsible thing to do! **************** To verify whether CCTV download is working or not, do the following:1. http://english.cctv.com/english/vod/index.shtmlYou will see "News Hour", "Biz China", "China Today", "World Wide Watch", ...icons listed on this page.2. Click "News Hour" or "World Woide Watch", you get:http://www.cctv.com/program/newshour/01/index.shtmlhttp://www.cctv.com/program/worldwidewatch/01/02/index.shtml3. click the current date, such as "08/06": http://www.cctv.com/program/newshour/20080806/104166.shtmlhttp://www.cctv.com/program/worldwidewatch/20080806/101041.shtml4. click "Watch VIDEO", it switches to an URL temporarily, then jumped to the following URL that is a dead end:http://v.cctv.com/If you can get any video out from the step #4, please make comment or email me.It looks like CCTV website got hacked and hijacked if you want to watch the news video clips from "News Hour" or "World wide Watch"!

cctvupload Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - "CCTV online is back!"? Are you using the US government internet servers? They must know the Olympics is just three days away, that's why they have picked out a perfect time to do this.

Nov 18, 2008 - Need HELP to verify:If you are willing to help, then please do me a favor, verify what I have experienced by going to the "More Info" on this video, try the three links that I listed there, and tell me what happens.I believe this is not a regional problem.
planettan Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - the third link worked, but very slow, keep "buffering"
cctvupload Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Thanks for the information! Somehow the third link didn't work for me. I am not sure what is wrong on my side. "Buffering" is normal. I guess the "buffering" problems are on their side. That is why it is very painful to watch any "live" video program on internet. Anyway, Thanks for the info.
cctvupload Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - I know they are in a process changing the video from Microsoft window multimedia player to Flash player. I finally made the flash player working with them, but now I got problem with the Microsoft player working with them. teh first and second links are connected to some funny URL address; v cctv com. Taht URL is a dead URL address.

cctvupload Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - OK, guys! the website is certainly works. You can get there no problem. BUT, my question is: Can you see their daily "News Hour" and "World Wide Watch"? See "More info" of this video.
3dlegoman Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - i check them all, and all of them are working. the vidoe is clear.
3dlegoman Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - happy bday :)
cctvupload Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Thanks for the info. I have tried to make sense out of this. I have confirmations from other users that these links won't work. Is that because you are in Canada?! And all people in US got blocked?! and blocked by who?! Also, did you try all the things that I listed in the "more info" of this video?
cctvupload Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Hi, guys! CCTV-9 still not reply me yet. They are very slow in replying anything!Anyway, I guess it is because of the Olympics copyright issue, they have blocked ALL the news video clips out from China. What a stupid irresponsible thing to do, and they did it!Don't be surprised if I close this "cctvupload" account. I guess it won't affect anyone. You guys got plenty other news sources!
3dlegoman Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - They have to block content access to the US Canada and other countries since some big networks have purchased rights to broadcast the olympics.

Nov 18, 2008 - Oh well! Censorship is at work! By the way, I thought you live in Seattle WA, cause I was able to see the CCTV for a while, but now I move to FL and the channel is not in the Cable service I have.
