Nov 19, 2008 - Remove your cstrike folder, delete it, then restart the game and it will remake the folder. Please not all your skins and maps will be gone.

Nov 19, 2008 - re-install source u have not downloaded the update a couple of years liek 2006 so just go re-install cs:S if that dosent work reinstall steam if that doesnt work buy the game agian:D

Nov 19, 2008 - Put in the sounds then. There should be a folder called 'sounds' so just put that in cstrike too.

I basically created some sounds, then replaced the original sounds with the new ones I made and now there's no sound when I fire my Desert Eagle. I'm kind of annoyed because it's stunting my progress for the mod I'm making.
