MiniVDO: Many Internet users in Phuket faced difficulties as the TOT Hi-speed internet was down, while the TOT Customer Service Manager insisted it was not related to the protest. http://thainews.prd.go.th/newsenglish/previewnews2.php?news_id=618Internet users, who are usually connected by the Telephone Organisation of Thailand or TOT in Phuket, on Wednesday and Thursday faced difficulties to access the Internet as the Hi-speed internet - ADSL was down. The TOT Phuket Customer Service Manager Anirut Uthairat explained to Andaman News that the bandwidth was narrower due to a broken part of the fibre optic cable in Ranong province. This resulted in a delay of internet for many locations, and was not involved with any protesters. The Phuket office has reported the complaints to Ranong and requested a speed up of repairs. The network at our office, NBT station resumed to normal at around 3pm yesterday. Mr. Anirut said their centre received over 200 calls from clients requesting information or fixing repairs. In Phuket around 15,000 clients use TOT Internet. Users are advised to call 1177 followed by their telephone number which is registered to connect to the internet.
