During World War Two in France a group 270 from the Texas National Guard were encircled by the Nazis and cut off from the rest of the American military. There were two attempts to break through the siege, however both failed. The Texas National Guard became known as the "Lost Battalion." An American commandeer finally called up the 442nd to break through the siege. The 442nd was made up of Japanese-American citizens. When America entered the war, Franklyn Delano Roosevelt (FDR) ordered the internment of Americans of Japanese ancestry. Many of which were born American citizens and naturalized citizens. The government feared there were fifth columnist among these American citizens who because of their ancestry became suspect. While in the internment camps, rather than build on hate for what was done to them, they volunteered to join the army and participate in America's war on fascism. The 442nd served bravely in Italy and France. This unit earned five Congressional Medal of Honors, ten Distinguished Service Crosses, and six Presidential Distinguished Unit Citations. Nov 18, 2008 - my grandparents raised my twin sister and I , we were born in Hawaii and raised in the mainland. He was in the 442 battalion and was part japanese and hawaiian. He was in the war all over europe..he talked about it. I was real young. We just burried him at the VA Memorial in Kaneohe, Hi. he passed at 90. You did a great job by giving respect to these soldiers and some guys just don't get it do they.? Like you said..any nationality we are Americans..Hey great video by the way.

kuualoha2008 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - perhaps you have your information incorrect and need to check. Maybe its you that is sneaky?

PropagandaBuster Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Thank you, and God bless your grandfather, a true American hero.

kuualoha2008 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - WarriorYor, I got your discusting message, I am not a japanese boy, I'm hawaiian..born in Hawaii..this makes me American raised in Palo Alto, CA. ..I'm a woman..By the way, if you google 442 battalion, some were japanese and some were both japanese and hawaiian and American citizens. They volunteered to fight for the war. They were the most highly decorated in the U.S history. I find your comments very disrepectful to the men that fought for our Country.

kuualoha2008 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Pandondondrim...I find your comment quite disrespectful...PropagandaPusher, is just giving respect to the 442 battalion for fighting for our country...if you google what really happened during this time...maybe perhaps you might actually learn something. What the video message is saying is that regardless of nationality..we are american. We might have our differences however; we fight for our country and freedom. Perhaps these comments you feel so strongly since your not American?

kuualoha2008 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Antiwhaler, the whole point is missed here...the 442 battalion, the japanese-americans were raised in U.S soil..as americans..not japanese citizens at the time of war therefore they volunteered to fight for our country while their families that were also raised and lived in the U.S were put in concentration camps. The video is giving repect for the men that fought to save other americans that were going to get killed...they put their lives on the line for the sake of our country.

WarriorYor Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - kuuThe dope (propagandapusher) is a pro jap propagandist. He'll deny it, but check for yourself. 240+ videos, criticizing everyone & everything except...Japan. Hmmm, does that give you a clue? As I pointed out, 442nd are/were American troops, while the dope subtly hints they were Japanese. That's my point.

WarriorYor Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - KuuMy posts aren't disgusting, just truthful. If you have a problem with that you'll have problems with life. I feel sorry for you.I know about the 442nd. Where in my posts am I factually inaccurate about them?

PublicCitizenTexas Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - First of all I'm a student of history, and I specifically studied the War in the Pacific - including the land war in China, so don't pretend to give me a history lesson.Second, learn to write.Third, I am an American, what makes you think I'm not? Because I'm not a mindless, fascist, theistic, anthropogenic barbarian like PP?Finally, I mean no disrespect to those soldiers, but I'm tired of ignorant Americans like PP raising soldiers up on a patriotic platform and worshiping them.

Pandonodrim Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - That previous post was from another account which was still signed in - but it was me so please respond to me.To continue... if we are "all Americans" then why is the first thing people like PP do when someone like me acts democratically and challenges them on their bs do they resort to calling me "un-American" and saying I should leave the country, etc.?People like PP are scum, who won't even abide by their own bs stances and moral platforms. And defending them makes you no better.

kuualoha2008 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I read your comments on this post, if they are your opinions not ours...some of the comments I read online on your own opinions on how you feel however; the point of the matter about the video...is off the subject about what propaganda buster was stating. My grandfather that raised my twin sister and I, I find your comments very disrepectful for any man...whatever nationality they were..that fought for our country. You sound like a white supremist....

kuualoha2008 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - WarrioYor, I'm only concerned about this video...not 240 other videos propagandabuster talks about...the 442 are japanese ...raised on U.S soil..this makes them american. One of them is my grandfather also part hawaiian.

kuualoha2008 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - publicCitizenTexas, my fiance has a Bachelors degree and also from texas. A history major. My grandfather fought for the 442..in fact he passed two years ago on this very day, nov 3rd. How is PropagandaBuster raising these soilders on a patriotic platform??? If you claim to have knowledge about history, these men were the most highly decorated men in history earning the nickname "The Purple Heart Battalion"

kuualoha2008 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - PublicCitizenTexas, additionally my grandmother worked for the gov of honolulu, Hi for 16+ years, was a delegate for the territory of hawaii during the pearl harbor attack. My father was there on the beach when he saw the japanese planes attack the island. This is not history books you read at college this is hands on knowledge that my grandparents talked about. My grandfather was there and fought in the 442 in Europe. I think your a young punk kid that thinks he knows it all.

Pandonodrim Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - If you think that's what I am then you are a complete fool. You can't even read or write properly.Stop talking about these soldiers, they are not the subject of my ire, PP is.I know plenty about these soldiers and what they did, I have nothing particular to say against them.I'm sure they were all very brave and fought quite well, etc., etc. But I don't hail and revere soldiers for the same reasons that I don't hail and revere war.

Pandonodrim Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I'm an American and I live in Texas. I'm well educated and have very specific feelings on violence and war. I'm sure those soldiers went through hell, but I don't believe in making heroes out of soldiers - they were soldiers, what they had to do was horrible and terrible. Why would I want to perpetuate such things? My heroes are people who bring about change non-violently.I'm not a pacifist, and I acknowledge that sometimes (vary rarely) war is inevitable.I suppose you can't understand.

Pandonodrim Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - And before you go off again on some tangent about WWII soldiers or whatever I should add that my father was in both the Army and the Navy, and most of his friends served in WWII - one of them was a Czechoslovakian officer who was forced into service for Germany... another was a Jew who served as a medic at Pearl Harbor.People like you, who have no real experience, need to realize how easy and simple it is to kill and destroy. It is far harder to protect and preserve.Such are my heroes.

PropagandaBuster Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Pandonodrim, please tell me you did not vote in this election and have no plans to vote.

Pandonodrim Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I voted early.Crossing my fingers for Noriega!I despise Cornyn...

PropagandaBuster Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Does that mean you are confident of an Obama win?

Pandonodrim Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Does what mean I'm confident of an Obama win?

kuualoha2008 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Pandonodrim, Like I said, my fiance has a bachelors degree, also from texas, history major. This video has only one purpose and its to honor the men who saved other texans in war or they would of died. You take a nice thing that propagandabuster is doing and you twist it just to be an ass. This is non sense...if you have a problem with this video...take it elsewhere or make your own blog however; fighting and pushing your opinions on others is really childish..don't you think.???

kuualoha2008 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Pandonodrim, So, why don't you argue with the U.S Army. ? I think your views are just opinions..and your bothered by it. The 442obviously made history or people wouldn't be talking about it to this day. Specifically, my grandfather fought the in the 442 and talked about europe. I would think this would count as experience. My grandmother worked at the Ilolani Palace with govenor ..was a delegate for Territory of Hawaii. In relation to this video, I think it counts as experience.

kuualoha2008 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Pandonodrim, then make a blog and a video, talk about your family and honor them elsewhere. Lets not get off the subject matter. I only got interested since my own grandfather was in the 442 battalion. Whatever you have a problem with and a disagreement...make your own video and have people go on to your site..howevver; to consistantly bashing this video and the people that honor these men..then your absolutely wasting your time.

Pandonodrim Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - So I'm not allowed free speech? I can't respond to the crap that PP posts? You think all he's doing is "honoring" the men of the 442, but from scum like PP I take it as an insult to the 442 (and that's not all he's doing - he always has an agenda). What is it you are trying to say in your posts? You don't seem to have any point, other than you think I'm insulting the 442 (which I'm not) and that I don't deserve to exercise my right to free speech.
