Nov 18, 2008 - If you watch TOuch of Evil, which was made before this, there's quite a bit of roadside motel influence that this film gets from it. And, of course, Dennis Weaver's astonishing performance of the motel night watchman filmed by Toland, I believe, in such a way to make it indelible. "Nnnnnummmmmber Seven!!!" One of my all time favorite performances. Up there with the guy who tries to rob Bruce Willis in The Fifth Element in his little apartment..."Gimme da caaaaaaassshhhh!!"
