An emergency drill was held recently near the Orlando airport. Emergency response teams used an Alternative Medical Treatment Site (AMTS) to respond to injuries resulting from a large disaster.An AMTS is quickly set up so that hospitals may concentrate on the treatment of critical and life-threatening injuries. An AMTS performs triage at a disaster site, and responds to victims suffering from non-critical injury.
