I appologize for the poor quality of the video. My camera is very old. This is my Benchmade 530SBK. This knife has a 3.25 inch blade of 154CM steel. This knife has zytel handles and uses an Axis-Lock. The knife weighs 1.88 oz. making it very knife. It has a very thin profile so it's comfortable in your pocket. I wouldn't suggest this knife as for EDC (Every Day Carry) because of the modified spear point blade shape and because the blade is also very thin. Using this knife for any heavier utility purposes may result in breaking the tip of the blade.I would definitely suggest this knife to anyone considering it. Just keep in mind that this knife was designed for self defence.

Nov 18, 2008 - thats a cool knife man ive always liked the shape of the handle on that one, how is it for EDC by the way?..

BloodGutsBrains1 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I don't normally carry this knife with me for EDC. The blade on the 530SBK is .09 inches thick making this knife pretty thin. This knife was mainly designed for self defence. However, if you did deside that you wanted this knife to use as an EDC knife it would be alright as long as you don't use it for any heavier tasks. Normal things like cutting cardboard or string or things like that it should be fine. It's thin and extremely light so it's very comfortable to carry.

Nov 18, 2008 - Looks great, I'm thinking of getting one. I have a question. How do you like the finger guard / hilt area? Is there jimping there for good traction and grip when holding?

BloodGutsBrains1 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Yea, it has jimping on the area you're talking about. It's on the top where you're thumb would go. Most Benchmade jimping is kind of rounded out though, so it isn't really sharp. To be honest, it looks like it is there mostly for looks than function. However, I don't see that you would have any problems with the grip of the knife. The material the handle is made of is pretty grippy. The knife is also very thin so it's extremely comfortable in your pocket.I hope that I helped.
