Nov 23, 2008 - I don't really get it. I already have this song for 4 years, on a bonus version of that Atomic Bomb fluke CD (sorry, don't really like that one). So strange that the 2 best songs (this one and Are you gonna wait forever) were not included on the album.Instead we were tormented with Yahweeeghh and Love and Peace and Vertigo.

Nov 23, 2008 - Yeah, it blows about the delay; however, the primary reason for the slide is that the band felt that more material needed to be redone or added. They settle for nothing less than perfection for their fans. This is one of the many reasons that U2 is the best rock band of all time. Patience my friends...it will be worth the wait! :) P.S. the delay should give them PLENTY of time to add THIS SONG to the CD :)

Nov 23, 2008 - Nice song, but it belongs to the era they are promising to emerge from. Why waste space on a new album for a song that's already out there? We have been promised new sonic territory. This is very much HTDAAB terrain, reminds me of Miracle Drug (a favourite) - ghostly and haunting in many ways, like much of HTDAAB. But I'm sorry, the Edge needs to be unleahed again in any new album. He needs freedom to invent new sounds. We need a glorious surprise like Actung Baby was back in 1991.

Nov 23, 2008 - WhoDoYouWant - You are correct in that this song is 'already out there' but it doesn't necessarily mean it's available as a quality download (at least I can't find it anywhere). I suppose I could agree with your point that this song does not belong on the new CD for the reasons you have listed. However, they should at least release Mercy as a 'lost' single or something along those lines. At least then, I could go download the quality version.

And counting.Weve hit a rich songwriting vein, he explains. It gets a bit dark down here but looks like we've found diamonds not coal. I thought a while back we might have the album wrapped by now, but why come up above ground now if there's more priceless stuff to be found?
