After half an hour Joe returned to the table, the burden he carried now suddenly a lot larger. Rachel had not carried any more good news. In fact, it was worse. She'd told him the full story of what had happened...between Matt and Rebecca, and Cacey. He paused staring at his brothers, who were playing 'Go Fish' to pass the time while waiting for him. Seeing his shadow, Nick glanced up. Joe hated seeing the worry in his eyes. He hated being the bearer of bad news."That was Rachel." He said, holding up his phone. "I'm afraid the crisis is slightly bigger." He eyed Nick meaningfully. "Now you're freaking me out dude," Nick said, slightly scared."Ok, I'll start off with...ach, I'll start off with the crisis that is bigger in the long run because I know if I mention the other one the two of you won't pay attention to this one which needs the most attention..." "JOE! Take a chill pill man and just tell us!" Kevin said, hitting Joe on the back of the head to snap him out of it."Yeah man, you have our undivided attention, which is not a usual occurrence so spill!" Joe squirmed... "Ellie's got an eating disorder." He murmured. The boys stared at him in disbelief. "It's a lot worse then anything Jake ever mentioned. And the worst part is, she won't admit it, but Rachel told me she's not eating anything, and constantly drinking water and going to the bathroom almost every half hour. And she's almost skeletal." Joe paused and watched his brothers digest the information.Kevin stood up and reached for his phone which was on the bench behind him. "What are you doing?" Joe asked, looking up at his brother. "Calling Mom. We have to go back to Aus." Kevin began dialling the number."Kevin! We can't!" Nick said jumping up and snatching the phone. Kevin looked at him."Why not?!" He asked."Because Ellie hasn't admitted it yet, she would just get really angry if we showed up and asked after her health!""She doesn't have to know that's why we went back!" Kevin argued, snatching the phone back."Then what do you suppose we say when she asks why we left our tour almost at the end and suddenly decided to come back?" Joe asked, as he too took the phone away from Kevin."The other crisis." He said, looking at Joe.Joe grimaced. "I don't think that will work as an excuse," He said. "Why not?" Kevin asked, sitting back down.Nick sat back down too, and stared along with Kevin at his brother."The other crisis is not so simple," Joe began. Seeing his brother's blank stares, he continued. "Rebecca walked in on Matt kissing -- another girl -- and now they're over." Joe looked at Kevin, who was trying so hard not so smile."Bro, you can smile. We all know your happy!" Nick said grinning. Kevin broke out into a smile. "That's not a crisis!" He said, almost laughing. Joe held up his hand."Yes, because that's not the whole story," he continued. The smile fell off Kevin's face, as he faced Joe. Joe just stared sadly at Nick."Who...Who was the other girl...?" Nick asked, almost too afraid to mention it.Joe sighed. "Cacey." He whispered.Nick stood up slowly, nodding to himself and walked away, pulling his phone out of his pocket as he did so. Joe glanced at Kevin. "Your really trying not to smile aren't you?" he asked."Yup." Kevin said, staring after Nick. "But not for the reasons you think."Joe stared at Kevin. "Then for what reasons?"Kevin nodded in the direction of Nick. "He can finally ask the girl of his dreams out." He laughed.Joe stared at him, understanding dawning slowly. "Hannah?" he asked."Nope." Kevin said, his smile breaking out. "Mari."HAHA - BET YOU GUYS DIDN'T SEE THAT ONE COMING...WOOHOO! I JUST TWISTED THE TALE! AND THERE'S MORE TO COME!BUT I SHED A TEAR...THE FINALE DRAWS NEAR :(
