Information...-On me-Name: KaitAge: 15Wheight: 130Years of Riding: 8Riding Style: Western and english-On horse-Name: Sun TrooperBreed: Quarab (QH cross Arab)Wheight: about 1.2kAge: 7 and a halfHeight: 16.1 handsColor: Flaxen (like a chestnut)Riding Style: Western and englishHistory: Was a colt found in a feild abandoned with a small herd. Was then sent to a new home where he was left to grow up with a small herd only to be riden a few times on a trail at a walk.I bought him and he went from green to a show horse that kids could get on and run under. He then changed back to wild and seemingly green again. We moved and he had to stay behind with the other horses for a couple weeks and when he got here we had to rebuild their wheight, clean them, needed new shoes, and were slowly put back under saddle (this was a couple months ago).I'm backed into a corner and don't know where else to turn. I have to start working on him tonight or else he'll be posted as for sale. I don't know what else to do. He rejects everything in one way or another. I've tried natural horsemanship and he does the same reaction he does to lunging, backs up and looks at me sadly. I know he's trying to talk to me but I don't understand..!I'm in tears and I figured you guys may be able to help me..?

Dec 3, 2008 - pennymusicMAma, I'm going to try to call a vet today (since I won't be here tomorrow) and see if they can get anyone out here and see what they can do about it <3We had someone make him a saddle that was fit to his sizes exactly but he doesn't seem to care about that, so yeah it has to be something that I can't do myself...thanks for the advice *hugs*

Dec 3, 2008 - i feel so horrible you might have already tried this..but hav u trid dra reins? becuase when they act up you pul one side at a time( left right repidly)straiten up there attitude. my horseshe tried her hardest to get around it.she couldnt or when u ride make his mind focused on things like firgure 8s, serpentines, tight tigh circles then like go over pulls. getting there heads focused by constantly doing lots of changes and transitions, if he isnt a fan turning see if his teeth need 2 bedone

Dec 3, 2008 - Okay, selling is NOT the answer. If you- who is like the soul sister to this animal- can't figure out whats wrong, some guy who thinks this is a nice looking horse, or even one who is beyond experienced, won't be able to help. The Chiropractor thing sounds like a good idea, just make sure your with him when they come to check him up. Also, search up some herb's that can help calm (Rosemary, i think is a good one)

TakeItToTheMax5 Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - My dad said that if it isn't physical, you might have to go back to the real square one. Like, when you got him. Give him some alone time, then try and see what he thinks of you. I really hope it doesn't end like that, because it can be hard on both of you. I'm praying for both of you now. (hope you don't mind

theflyingflea Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - Yeah he hates it when I try that... he stops and starts pawing at the ground growling at me x.xBut I'm gunna get a vet out here to help him!:)

theflyingflea Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - Thats why I've been begging to keep him and for them to hold out on posting signs/ads on him...I wouldn't know where he would be going or what it would be like for him 3;I have some herbs I can look up and see if they can work! Thats an idea :D

theflyingflea Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - Well I'll have to see what the vet says <3<3And of course I don't mind :3*hugs*

Dec 3, 2008 - hey, you should talk to my friend barnbrat411, her mom has been working with horses since she was young, she may be able to tell you something to try, her mom is really good with horses. i just dont want anything to happen to him and you, hes is a really pretty horse, let mee know what happens.

hrslvr74 Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - I just had the chiropractor out for my filly on Wed. What a difference one treatment made. And we were given several stretching exercises for her. We are also having radiographs of her neck done next week. It seems that sometimes a simple slip / fall out in pasture while running with the herd can take a pretty big toll. I hope that you are able to find another chiropractor / vet that can help you and your horse out. Keep us posted.

Dec 3, 2008 - hes just being a brat! make him work thro it. If u let him get away with things he will learn that he can oush u around.orhes going thro a growth spert so he feels un comfrtable with him self my horse went through that so we just did lots of grownd work

Dec 3, 2008 - im confused how could he be very good and then be bad?? mabie a fantom horse got in him. lol im really sorry or mabie somone snuck in your barn and mistreated him im like really sorry!

StarGirl11 Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - You said you had to leave him at another stable for a short time right? Maybe you should try looking into the possibility that something that something happened at the stable when you weren't around, that caused the change in demeanor?Just a suggestion. Hope things go well.

OliviaAndEolForever Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - heyy have u tried having is back checked and his saddle properly fitted by a qualified person, it sounds pain related and if you were uncomfortable you would be in a really bad mood all the time, espicially as he sees you as the cause of his pain when you ride him. hope this helps and you get it sorted =]x

Dec 3, 2008 - So,how did everything go?

horsewhisper85 Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - Find an instructor who is at least a level 4 certified in Natural Horsemanship they would know what they're doing, Parelli instructors are all over the world and can help you get better results. Maybe it might be psychological or physical, but either way they can help. Good Luck
