I wrote this song after discovering the amazing music of Nick Drake. If you have never heard of Nick Drake or have never listened to any of his stuff, you really ought to check it out. Anyway, if I had to pinpoint 3 or 4 influences on the way that I write songs and play guitar, I would definitely list Mr. Drake. He's the epitome of the singer/songwriter in my opinion. Anyways, here are the lyrics (they're rather short):The heat here is unbearableThe air here is unbreathable,Salvation waiting on a fire escape,Salvation waiting on a fire escapeMy place here, indiscernible,The truth here, inconsequentialSalvation waiting on a fire escape,Salvation waiting on a fire escape,The fire is getting hotter,Trying to pull me in,The fire is getting hotter,The fire is getting brighter,Trying to pull me in,The fire is getting brighter,And brighter, And brighter,And brighter, And brighter,And brighter

Dec 3, 2008 - Thanks, yeah I'm a Jose Gonzalez fan. Now that you mentioned it I can see his influence in the song. I think part of the reason that it's hard to sound like Nick Drake is because he's so far superior to me in technique.
